The TLC-Ag Technology is the combination of the unique TLC technology from Laboratoires Urgo with the antibacterial performance of silver salts.

The silver salts provide a bacteridal effect on most of the microorganisms involved in secondary infection: gram + (MRSA, Staphylococcus Aureus…), Gram – (Pseudomonas Aeruginosa…), and yeasts.

In contact with wound exudate, the silver sulphate breaks down (Ag2S04+2 Ag+ + S04) and releases the Ag+ ion, while the Carboxymethylcellulose particles become hydrated and swell to form a surface lipido-colloid film.

Dissolved in this way, the silver ions join the lipido-colloid layer and become active.

The release of Ag+ from the silver sulphate and its bioavailability at the surface of the wound are exudate-dependant.

Yes, UrgoCell® Silver is an absorbent dressing composed of an absorbent polyurethane foam pad combined with a lipido-colloid interface (TLC) impregnated with silver salts.

UrgoCell® Silver forms a lipido-colloid gel on contact with the exudate, which creates moist conditions promoting the healing process and which prevents adhesion of the dressing to the wound. Exudate is absorbed instantly and vertically, limiting the risks of maceration of the wound edges, and are retained in the dressing.

TLC-NOSF is a new combination of the patented lipido-colloid technology (TLC) with a new compound NOSF.

NOSF is an innovative compound derived from the chemical oligosaccharide family, specially selected by Laboratoires URGO research department, having demonstrated Matrix Metalloproteinase inhibiting properties and its clinical efficacy in terms of promoting faster healing in leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. It is available within a contact layer with TLC-NOSF (UrgoStart® Contact) or a soft-adherent foam dressing with TLC-NOSF (UrgoStart®).

The lipido-colloid technology maintains the moist environment necessary for the healing process and establish a soft contact with wound and surrounding skin. NOSF re-triggers the wound healing process.

Unlike a normal healing process, an increase in proteinase activity is a factor systematically described in leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. This proteinase hyperactivity is a reflection of persistent inflammation, preventing progress to the proliferative tissue reconstruction phase. The polysaccharide structure of NOSF partially dissolves to form a colloidal substance capable of binding onto all the surfaces of the wound. NOSF also interacts with the metalloproteinases present in the wound exudate, reducing their quantity and inhibiting their detrimental activity obstructing healing. NOSF restores the wound imbalance.

The TLC layer, releasing NOSF, maintains a moist environment in the wound, promoting the healing process and the free circulation of growth factors.

K Two is a two layer compression bandage system. It is made of:

• Layer 1: K-Tech, a knitted layer which provides compression, absorbency and protection to bony prominences,
• Layer 2: K-Press, a cohesive bandage which provides the additional pressure required to obtain the therapeutic pressure of 40mmHg at the ankle and maintains the bandage system in place.

The bandage provides very high levels of patient comfort and the possibility to wear regular shoes. For the clinician, K2 allows safe and accurate compression on first application and effective reduction of oedema in venous leg ulcer management. K Two is indicated in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, venous leg ulcers and oedema.
