Commited to improving outcomes in wound care.

Meeting NHS demands

Wound care is going to be an increasingly common clinical problem as the population ages, having a major adverse effect on patients' Quality-of-Life (QoL). This has been recognised by the National Institute for Research which has set up a Health Technology Co-Operative for Wound care in response to: "The importance of wounds and the need to support the development of medical devices directed at improving patient outcome while delivering better cost-effectiveness."

Clinicians are expected to conform to a number of national initiatives, all of which put the patient firmly at the centre of care pathways, e.g Care Quality Commission, Departement of Health, Equity & Excellence: Liberating the NHS and NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, and of course QIPP (Quality. Innovation, Productivity, Prevention)
